Pharmacy Solutions

Pharmacy Solutions, a licensed pharmacy, is a service that can help reduce the amount of time your office spends on the reimbursement process:

• No need to purchase and stock medication
• No time-consuming benefits verification for office staff
• No billing, reimbursement, or copay collection for office staff

Pharmacy Solutions also:

• Verifies insurance benefits for Lupron Depot (excluding Medicare)
• Bills contracted insurance providers for coverage and patients for copayments

Lupron Patient Assistance Program (LPAP)

To assist qualified low-income patients in purchasing Lupron Depot, TAP provides the Lupron Patient Assistance Program. LPAP is a service that:

• Reviews patient qualification criteria and determines patient eligibility
• Ships Lupron Depot free of charge to the physicians of eligible patients

Medicare Reimbursement

Appropriate claims for Lupron Depot are covered under Medicare in most U.S. states. Currently, reimbursement for most situations is set at Average Sales Price (ASP), plus 6%. Please consult your local carrier for specific information, or contact TAP Reimbursement Services at 1-800-453-8438, option 2.

Lupron Depot Procurement and the Medicare Modernization Act (MMA)

At this time, the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has decided not to include all LH-RH agonists in the first phase of the Competitive Acquisition Program (CAP). Lupron Depot was among those not included. You may continue to order Lupron Depot as you have.

How the Least Costly Alternative (LCA) Affects Ordering

Least Costly Alternative refers to a local Medicare carrier practice that pays for the drug that is the least costly, typically, per drug class. To determine your state's LCA status for Lupron Depot, please contact your local Medicare carrier or contact TAP Reimbursement Services at 1-800-453-8438, option 2. Lupron Depot is available in all 50 states regardless of LCA status.
